FEMA Preliminary 2012 Maricopa County Flood Insurance Rate Maps

Information on who to contact for floodplain and flood insurance rate map questions for a specific parcel or property may be found on the Information Sources page.

The preliminary 2012 DFIRM panels will not show any LOMRs that have been approved after August 2010.

To view your property and the preliminary updated floodplains, complete the information below to view a specific parcel and compare the preliminary 2012 Countywide DFIRM panels with the 2005 DFIRM panels:

Parcel Number:
  e.g. 105-17-007

A "Submit Inquiry" button is provided at the top of the map so that inquiries about the proposed floodplain delineation changes can be submitted to the Flood Control District. If necessary, District staff will respond to the inquiry with guidance regarding how to submit a formal Appeal or Protest to FEMA regarding the new delineations being incorporated on the preliminary Countywide DFIRM panels. The "Submit Inquiry" button will only be available during FEMA's formal Appeal and Protest Period from October 21, 2011 through January 18, 2012. Please note that submitting an inquiry is not considered the submission of an official Appeal or Protest to FEMA.

Appeals submitted to FEMA must include scientific or technical data that show Base Flood Elevations (BFE) are incorrect. Only new BFEs can be appealed. Protests submitted to FEMA must include scientific, technical, or other data to show that other flood hazard information is incorrect (flood boundary limits, floodway information, flood zone call out, etc.) Comments may also be submitted to FEMA to correct non-technical information (road names, community limits, etc.).

The purpose of this Map Revision is to convert the vertical datum shown on the FIRM panels from NGVD29 to NAVD88 vertical datum. The vertical datum is a national elevation reference where mean sea level is used as 0 feet of elevation. Additionally the preliminary DFIRMs include the incorporation of Letters of Map Revision (LOMR), Best Available Data Letters, FEMA-initiated flood studies, updated base map aerial photography, inclusion of local survey benchmarks, updated community jurisdictional boundaries, and a revised FIRM panel numbering system. Notation for Provisional Accreditation of Levees (PAL) will also be incorporated on the map revision.
