Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) by the Numbers

East Valley Animal Shelter and Durango Animal Shelter Numbers, facts, figures

As the economy has improved, we have seen declining animal intake numbers. At the same time, we have been able to adopt or relocate a higher percentage of the animals that come through our doors (94% live-release rate in 2017 and 96% in recent months).  These trends allow us to adjust our approach to save more lives.  In addition to operating two shelters, MCACC will focus on providing more support services that allow pet owners to keep their animals, rather than abandoning them or giving them up.
